Dear Struggling Homeschool Mom, I See You!
First chapter
Let’s just be honest—sometimes homeschooling is hard. And sometimes, we’re not doing so well.
Does any of this sound familiar?
Your husband doesn’t help
The kids don’t listen
Your family thinks you’re crazy
Strangers really think you’re crazy
Sometimes... you wonder if you actually are crazy
There’s too much to do
You’re exhausted
The house is a mess
You feel like you don’t measure up
You can’t get it all done—because it never actually gets done
Your husband is demanding
You’re never alone
You never get “me time”
You miss having time with your husband
The kids won’t do their schoolwork
The kids won’t get along
If you’re nodding along, please hear me say this: you are not alone.
“Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened...”
Who said that?
You know Him—Jesus.
And what did He promise?
He will give you rest.
Friend, He sees you.
He delights in you.
You are the apple of His eye—His pride and joy.
You are His treasured daughter.
God sees every sacrifice you make, every tear you shed in secret, every ounce of love you pour into your children—His children. He honors you for the way you nurture, serve, and care, even when no one else notices. Even when you don’t feel like you’re doing a great job.
You may not fully realize this, but you are royalty. You’re a daughter of the King who made the heavens and the earth. That means you’re the queen of your home, the mama of eternal souls entrusted to you by the Creator Himself.
Do you know who you are?
Maybe you’ve forgotten. Maybe you’ve never truly believed it.
But God knows. He’s never been confused about your identity.
He’s the One who formed you, who breathed life into you, who delights in you.
You are more important and more deeply loved than you’ve ever dared to imagine.
Your job in this season? It’s sacred. It may look like refereeing squabbles, cleaning up endless messes, or surviving on cold coffee and broken sleep—but really, you’re doing the slow, holy work of shaping hearts. Of building souls.
Your children need you. More than the perfect lesson plan or chore chart, they need your love.
They need to see in your eyes and feel in your arms what it means to be safe, seen, and loved—so they can begin to understand how God sees and loves them.
You are a big deal—not just because of what you do, but because of who you are.
And I know, it might not feel like “real” work. You might think,
“I just change diapers, clean up spills, feed people, and try not to lose my mind.”
But is that all?
Sister, what you do touches God’s heart.
He watches as you gently hold your babies, clean them, calm them, love them—
and He smiles.
The world might not pay you. The world might not even thank you.
But heaven sees. And heaven honors you.
You are doing the queenly work of the Kingdom of God.
Let me just say it: you’re doing better than you think.
And still—God knows it’s hard. He knows how heavy this can feel.
He sees your weariness and your overwhelmed heart.
And He doesn’t scold you—He invites you closer.
Lean into Him. Let Him lift the weight you’re carrying.
Let Him give you real rest—the kind that reaches your soul.
He hasn’t forgotten you. He cares about every detail of your life.
Ask Him for peace. Ask Him for a plan.
He is the Waymaker. And He will make a way.
